The Role
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and friendly General Catering Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. While this role is based at Oakfield School, a key daily responsibility involves traveling to nearby Trinity First School to serve lunch to their pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants to make a tangible difference to the daily lives of students across our local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing salads, sandwiches, and simple cooked dishes using fresh, high-quality ingredients at the Oakfield School kitchen.
- Travel to Trinity First School to serve daily lunches, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for their pupils.
- Operate till systems, manage queues, and provide excellent customer service to pupils and staff across both settings.
- Maintain high safety and hygiene standards by cleaning equipment, washing crockery, and monitoring food temperatures in line with regulations.
- Help set up the dining halls, clear tables, and support special school events such as parents' evenings and conferences.
There are many advantages to working for us. Included in your actual annual salary is a generous annual leave entitlement, access to a local government pension scheme, sick pay scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, free eye tests, and an employee assistance helpline. Support staff in schools can also benefit from a range of national discount schemes available to education professionals, such as the Blue Light Card offering savings on shopping, travel, and leisure.
We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the closing date if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
