Pyrland School and the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership (MNSP) are seeking a friendly, approachable, and reliable 1st Line IT Technician to join our dedicated technical support team.
In this role, you will be key to keeping our digital learning environment running smoothly. You will provide responsive front-line technical support to staff and students at Pyrland School.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a first point of contact for routine and emergency ICT support requests across the School.
Set up, maintain, repair, and upgrade desktop PCs, laptops, peripherals, and software applications.
Manage user accounts and permissions, assist with password resets, ensure patch updates are applied, and assist with cloud services (Google/Unify).
Monitor disk space, help maintain print management systems (PaperCut), VOIP phones, wireless connections, and school MIS software.
Keep accurate IT equipment inventories, ensure equipment is clean and fit for use, and strictly adhere to workplace Health & Safety policies.
Who We Are Looking For
Essential Criteria:
Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 5/C or above (including English and Maths).
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of supporting Windows desktop operating systems, MS Office applications, and standard networking technologies (LAN/WAN).
Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a professional attitude, and a logical approach to troubleshooting.
Mobility: A valid UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle to travel between MAT sites as required.
Attributes: Highly organised, adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
