Role: Teaching Assistant (Grade 3)
Salary: Grade 3, Scale Points 5–7 (£26,427 – £27,274 FTE)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only + 5 Inset Days
Hours: 28 hours per week (across 4 days)

Are you passionate about helping every child achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and organized Grade 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality support to pupils with diverse learning and special educational needs (SEN).
Working under the guidance of our SENCO and teaching staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering targeted learning interventions, implementing EHCP requirements, fostering an inclusive classroom environment, and helping pupils build independence and self-esteem.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement EHCP requirements, deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions, support personal care/welfare needs, and promote pupil independence and self-esteem.
- Help create a structured and supportive learning environment, assist with lesson preparation and display work, monitor pupil progress, and maintain accurate progress records.
- Assist pupils in developing core literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills using a variety of adaptive resources and strategies.
- Provide pastoral support, assist during unstructured times (break/lunchtime supervision, trips), and adhere strictly to safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety policies.
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- GCSE Level 2 (or equivalent) in Literacy and Numeracy.
- NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) + completion of the DfES TA Induction Programme OR
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as a Teaching/Learning Support Assistant with a willingness to complete the TA Induction Programme.
- Demonstrated experience applying effective strategies for children with complex educational needs.
- Strong communication, active teamwork, effective use of ICT (Google Suite, email, general software), and an understanding of child development and welfare.
Desirable:
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Training in specific SEN or literacy/numeracy learning strategies.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and relevant codes of practice.
