Data Manager

Salary: £32,578-£34,811 per annum, pro rata (Grade 6 SPC 18-22)

Actual Salary: £29,489-£31,511 per annum

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Term time plus INSET days and 10 additional days during the school holidays)

About the Role

Hayesfield Girls’ School is seeking an organised and analytical Data Manager to lead and oversee our Management Information System (Arbor). You will manage student records, target setting, reporting, curriculum timetables, and statutory DfE Census returns, while providing technical support to staff and line managing our Data Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIS & Data Systems: Lead and manage Arbor, SISRA, and TT-Options/Timetabler for assessment, tracking, student records, and timetable maintenance.
  • Reporting & Targets: Produce student progress targets, KS5 transition targets, and manage data required by the leadership team and trust (MNSP data drops).
  • Statutory Compliance: Oversee government and DfE Census requirements.
  • Admissions & Student Data: Coordinate data collection and admissions inputs for Year 6 into 7 and mid-year entries alongside administrative/pastoral teams.
  • Team Leadership: Line manage the Data Officer, including day-to-day oversight and performance management.
  • Key Events: Support results processing for GCSE results day (including the day prior) and assist with exam broadsheets.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Excellent working experience with Arbor (or a similar school MIS) and spreadsheet/database tools (e.g., Google Sheets).
  • Knowledge of Timetabler software and creating/manipulating spreadsheet formulae.
  • Previous experience of working within a secondary school data environment.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to train and support staff in using data tools.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Power BI or Looker Studio.
  • Experience with SISRA and KS5 target setting.
  • Formal qualification in a mathematical or computing subject.
