The Role

Hayesfield Girls’ School is seeking a dynamic and passionate mathematician to join our thriving and highly successful Mathematics Faculty. At Hayesfield, we believe that ‘Every Child Counts,’ and we are looking for an educator who can translate that philosophy into inspiring classroom practice.

You will join a collaborative, high-profile team that leads in many aspects of Teaching and Learning across the school. Key Responsibilities:

  • Excellence in Teaching: Deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons that encourage students to work independently and apply their skills with confidence.
  • Dismantling the "Glass Ceiling": Actively participate in female-specific enrichment events and masterclasses to inspire young women to pursue Mathematics in further education and STEM careers.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a dynamic team to share resources, ideas, and best practices, ensuring consistency and high expectations for all students.
  • Aspiration for All: Support the school’s "Achieving Ambitions" ethos, ensuring outstanding progress for every student regardless of their prior attainment or background.
  • Digital Integration: Utilise our extensive departmental resources, including faculty Chromebooks and interactive technology, to enhance the learning experience.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Teaching Qualification: QTS (or equivalent) with a specialism in Mathematics. Applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs are welcomed.
  • Subject Passion: A deep love for Mathematics and the ability to convey this enthusiasm to students of all ages and abilities.
  • Professional Standards: A commitment to consistency, praise, and encouragement as the primary drivers of student progress.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Vision: A commitment to promoting Mathematics as a vital pathway for young women.

  • Experience in or the ability to teach A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, or Core Mathematics.
  • A track record of achieving strong progress outcomes at GCSE.

We offer:

  • A high-achieving department with a strong A-Level culture and excellent results.
  • Flexible working: Applications for full-time, part-time, or job-share arrangements are welcomed.
  • Exceptional professional development opportunities through the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership and the Bath Hub.
  • A supportive and professional working environment in the heart of the beautiful city of Bath.
