Teacher of PE

Location: St Mark’s School

Salary: MPS 1-6 (£32,916 - £45,352 full time).

Contract: Permanent, Part-time (0.7 FTE). A full time opportunity may be available depending on other recruitment.

Are you a passionate educator committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and sporting excellence? St Mark’s is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of PE to join our dedicated team.

As a small, supportive school, we pride ourselves on knowing our students well. We are looking for a teacher who can deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love for physical activity while maintaining high standards of achievement and behavior.

The Role

You will be responsible for teaching a full range of abilities, ensuring that every student is motivated to improve their fitness and engage in a healthy lifestyle. Beyond the classroom, you will play a pivotal role in the vibrant life of our school by:

  • Organising school sports teams, inter-school matches, and extracurricular clubs.
  • Leading a tutor group and supporting the personal and social well-being of our students.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative schemes of work.
  • Promoting career opportunities within the world of sport and physical development.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECTs alike. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a good honours degree in a relevant subject.
  • A clear philosophy on how to challenge and inspire students of all abilities.
  • The ability to use data and ICT effectively to raise standards.
  • A "can-do" attitude—as a small school, the flexibility to occasionally teach outside of your specialism is highly valued.

Note: For an exceptional candidate, we would consider appointing and training a non-specialist.

Why Join St Mark's?

At St Mark’s, you will work as part of a collaborative team that values creativity and professional growth. We offer a supportive environment where your integrity, reliability, and passion for PE will be recognised and rewarded.

Completed applications must be received by Midday on Friday 15th May 2026. Interviews will take place w/c 18th May.
