This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent Teaching Assistant to join our committed and professional team. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, able to work on their own initiative and has a commitment to excellent early years working practices and an awareness of Forest School practice. We need someone who is committed to a close knit school with all the opportunities and challenges that brings.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Early Years Lead/Nursery Manager to implement agreed work programmes in or out of the classroom. Confidence and experience at communicating with parents would be an advantage.

At Longvernal School we pride ourselves on our happy friendly atmosphere and on the level of pastoral care that we provide for all our learners. The successful applicant will not only work with us to raise standards of achievement but will also be welcomed into and be expected to work with us to enhance this ethos. Ideally, we are looking for someone who already has a Nursery Nurse or Early Years qualification. Experience of working in a Reception Class would be an advantage.

Term time only staff - There are many advantages to working for us. Included in your actual annual salary is generous annual leave entitlement, access to a local government pension scheme, sick pay scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, free eye tests and employee assistance helpline. Support staff in schools can also benefit from a range of national discount schemes available to education professionals such as the Blue Light Card offering savings on shopping, travel, and leisure.

We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the closing date if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
