This specialised role is focused on championing the inclusion, acceptance, and academic progress of students accessing our dedicated Resource Base provision, ensuring they have equal access to all areas of school life.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing the direct requirements of the pupil’s EHCP, student profile, and target action plans.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the pupil's specific educational needs and executing tailored, proactive learning strategies.
  • Supporting the pupil's safety, access to learning, and personal welfare needs (including social, health, and emotional wellbeing).
  • Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to adapt structured learning activities and interventions, focusing on key literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Acting as a positive role model to foster self-esteem, independent social interaction, and peer inclusion across the school campus.

We are looking for a candidate with a patient, nurturing approach who can work constructively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent).
  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent qualification/experience) plus induction training, OR a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory experience as a TA/LSA with a willingness to undertake further training.
  • Practical experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age. A solid understanding of child development and a toolkit of strategies for supporting children with complex needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate well to both children and adults, alongside strong ICT competence to effectively support modern digital learning.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Specific training in autism spectrum conditions or related learning strategies (such as literacy/numeracy interventions).
  • A current general first aid qualification.
